About Marko Mihailovic

Psychotherapist and Well-Being Coach

A counselor, psychotherapist, well-being coach and passionate clinical researcher, Marko’s mission in life is to help each client get well and grow personally, professionally, and as a whole person. This is achieved through a number of customized, holistic and integrative coaching and counseling techniques.

Marko has over 18 years of international experience in the fields of psychology, psychiatry and general medicine. His eclectic approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness principles, motivational interviewing, meditation, deep breathing and other relaxation techniques.

Thousands of clients around the world have been helped by Marko throughout his professional career. These people were empowered to overcome a wide range of emotional and behavioral problems (such as anxiety, depression, anger, grief, denial, guilt and shame) in various clinical settings.

At the Center for War Trauma and Safe House in Serbia, Marko helped people of every age and gender to overcome trauma, addiction and other mental health problems.

Marko also successfully conducted different psychotherapy modalities with adults suffering from severe mental illnesses and mental health issues at the Clinical Hospital Center in Serbia, and at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago, IL.

Currently, Marko is an affiliate member of the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) in Chicago.

Marko is a foreign trained clinical psychologist.  He also holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Organizational Psychology from the Adler University, Chicago, IL.  Additionally,  Marko holds the Primary and Advanced certificates in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, NY as well as Essentials of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Beck Institute, Philadelphia, PA.  Besides the clinical work,  he has been involved as a consult and trainer in the corporate setting.  Marko is passionate about designing and implementing customized corporate programs.

He also holds a certificate in Wellbeing coaching from the Anthropedia Foundation, St. Louis, MO.  Marko has been an active member and research collaborator of the Network of Empowerment and Well-being, which is an international network of researchers who are interested in the field of well-being research.

For nearly a decade, he has been doing clinical research in the field of the Central Nervous System (CNS) at the Northwestern University and the University of Illinois in Chicago.

Together with his life and business partner, Mila Apostolovic, Marko co-founded the Chicago Center for Well-Being in Chicago.  He is a foodie and a passionate photographer, film lover, movie maker and hiker, who, along with Mila, enjoys jazz music and traveling.
